At times, I decide to raise the bar, so to speak, on a design. This bracelet is closely related to Joan in the use of a round hollow form toggle clasp. In this case, however, there’s a twist in the materials and technique that I used. The hollow form is made from sterling silver and brass in a technique called marriage of metals. Marriage of metals is a way of combining different non-ferrous metals together by soldering them edge-to-edge. The challenge in a 3-dimensional object is to get the edges to line up.

In addition to the sterling silver and brass, Lucia has amazonite beads and cabochons. She is strung with silk; with the exception of the small bezel cups (settings), all the components for Lucia are hand-made. She is sized for a 7 1/2 inch (191 mm.) wrist with an easy fit. This is a truly beautiful bracelet.
